Color mixing, one of the most important elements in creating luminous paintings, is taught in oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, and gouache (Ms. Willis highlights gouache because she is the only noted artist who offers instruction in that medium in a workshop environment). You’ll study composition, how to begin a painting, values, how to solve the many problems that arise during the painting process, glazing and	Diana Willis giving one-to-one instruction
"color temperature" - which colors advance, which recede - knowledge that is important in creating three dimensional, realistic work. Your workshop also includes, easy to-learn methods of painting various textures; wood, glass, old Italian stone, and woven fabrics.
