| A former New Yorker with an
Italian heritage, Cathy now lives, paints and teaches in Ohio.
She has won numerous awards at the Ohio Watercolor Society
shows. Her work can currently be found at the Churski, Charles
Meyer and Great Northern Corporate Galleries of Ohio, The
Birdnest Gallery in Maine, and the Saks Cherry Creek and Navajo
Galleries in Colorado.
"I feel that for a painting to be successful, it should
create an illusion and impact an emotional response in the
viewer," states Welner. "Composition, light, pure color and an
appealing subject are the qualities I strive for in my
paintings. These are the elements I'll teach this summer in
Italy," continued the artist.
